A total of 8 entries were received for the Art Competition, all from the younger sections of the club. The entries were judged by an independent panel of six members of the Waves Complex staff.  Mervyn Breen, of Waves,  commented that the standard was very high and was pleased to announce that the following entries are being awarded the Prizes:

It is intended that the Prizes will be awarded during the Armagh Championships gala on Saturday, 23rd January. The Prize winners will be contacted individually to confirm a time.

The winning entry will also appear on the front page of the Programme for the Armagh Championships with all entries received being displayed on the day of the Championships.

The Committee of the Club extend their thanks and congratulations to all of the Swimmers who participated in the competition. The effort put in by all entrants was very obvious - they all seem to enjoy their art almost as much as they enjoy their swimming !!  Well done to you all!

Lurgan Amateur Swimming Club (LASC) competed in the annual Arthur McDonald Perpetual Novice Gala in Newry last Saturday afternoon. This competition consisted of swimmers from Newry, Portadown, Armagh and Lurgan and the swimmers competing were aged between 7 and 12 years of age. LASC were confident going into this event as they had showed in recent galas that their early season training was really benefitting them in all stroke events.
